Out of Hours

Our Emergency Care and Support Team works closely with Out-of-Hours Duty Social Workers to provide immediate support and intervention for service users where there is a risk of, or an actual, disregulated placement breakdown.

We offer flexible, responsive support to help maintain the stability of children and young people across a range of settings, including family homes, foster placements, police stations, hospitals, and within the wider community.

Our service supports individuals through complex and challenging situations with the appropriate level of care, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children and young people during emergency transitions. It also enables Local Authorities to explore sustainable, long-term solutions.

Supervised Contact

CareOLine supports children and young people in maintaining meaningful relationships with family members and other significant individuals during court proceedings or under court orders. Our Contact Supervisors work collaboratively with social workers, placements, and caregivers to ensure a safe and supportive environment.

During contact, CareOLine’s supervisors prioritise the wellbeing of the child or young person. They remain impartial to family dynamics and record each session in line with the relevant assessment framework, providing accurate, objective observations to inform ongoing care and planning.

Welfare Checks

CareOLine carries out both announced and unannounced welfare visits to families, ensuring the wellbeing and welfare of children is consistently maintained. These visits assess the standard of care being provided and confirm that the home environment is safe, appropriate and supportive of the child’s overall wellbeing.

Our support staff ensure there are no apparent safeguarding concerns that could impact the child’s physical or emotional health at the time of the visit.
